How to Choose Flowers for your Wedding Day

Flowers are such an essential factor to a wedding ceremony and reception, and at Flower Plus, we simply love to make all your dreams come true for this special day!

Over the 35 years we've been in business, we have developed a no-fuss step by step system to help you through this process.

Important - Before you contact us for your wedding consultation, make sure to have decided on the colour palette of your wedding (i.e. dress, tuxedos, table/chair coverings).  

 The Wedding Consultation Process

At the wedding consultation, we will ask for the colours of your wedding and whether you have any specific flowers or floral designs in mind for your wedding. 

Please bring swatches of material, if available, and pictures of specific flowers and floral designs you are interested in. 

Please note that flowers are seasonal, so some flowers used in a Spring or Summer wedding may not be available for a Fall or Winter wedding, and vice versa.

We have several portfolios of wedding flower pictures and designs for you to review if you have not already made your magazine clippings, Pinterest boards or website bookmarks.

Floral tip 1 -  We have limited consultation space (max. 4 people).  We have found that generally, the more people you ask to come to the consultation, the longer it takes for a decision to be made.

Floral tip 2 - The first consultation usually takes place between 6-12 months of the wedding day.

Written Quote for the Wedding Flowers

We will provide you with a written quote for the wedding flowers that will identify the types of flowers chosen, the design of the flowers, quantities and prices.

Before we finalize your quote, we ask that you provide us with the following information:

1. the number of tables and centrepieces;
2. the number of bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres;
3. the dimensions of your cake for floral decoration; and
4. the location of the ceremony, reception, or other delivery addresses (if required).

Once you receive your quote, please feel free to call us or book another appointment to make any changes. We ask that no further changes are made two weeks before the wedding as we need to finalize our sourcing of materials.

Deposit

If you decide to book your wedding with Flower Plus, a non-refundable deposit for 50% of the wedding quote is required to reserve the date with us. 

Final Payment

     Payment for the balance of the wedding flowers is due two Mondays before your wedding.
